The Creative Writing Test Kitchen is currently in development, so all aspects of it are open to experimentation. Feel free to make demands in the form of requests.

Here’s everything you need to know to sign up — that is, everything I know at this time!

WHEN

We will meet live online 5 times over the course of a month. Each session will last approximately 90 minutes. The next course begins Tuesday August 16 at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST.

In addition, there will be a weekly Open Writing Lab (where you can have private discussions with me and get feedback on what you’re currently writing).

HOW

I’ll start each meeting with an idea, a quotation, an exercise, a goal, a prompt — something designed to get your creative juices flowing.

Then you’ll have time to write on your own, ask me questions, stare at the wall, play with words, get messy, and get creative.

We’ll meet up at the end to check in and set the intention for the following class and the time between.

This live experience is where the core of the action will take place. While I will be recording sessions for posterity, my intention is for them to be interactive, supportive, fun, and totally worth your time! Clear your schedule and lock your writing room door.

WHERE

We’ll be using Zoom videoconferencing (a very easy-to-use service) and a private Facebook page.

WHAT

I’ll give you my insights, ideas, inspirations, perceptions, poetry, pith, feedback, face time, and natural forces.
